Brothers Renew Vows in Los Gatos

From September 21 to 27, our three SSPX brothers stationed in Canada joined the brothers currently stationed in the United States, as well as those in training at the Novitiate in Winona, MN, at St. Aloysius Retreat House in Los Gatos, CA, for the annual brothers' retreat. All 25 brothers were able to attend.
After the retreat, the thee brothers stationed in Canada returned to Canada to attend the renewal of vows ceremony at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School in New Hamburg, Ontario. Our two brothers stationed at this school each renewed vows for one year. The third brother has already made perpetual vows.
Meanwhile, on Sept. 28, in San Jose, CA, two of the brothers from the United States began their year of novitiate. The following day, the feast of St. Michael the Archangel, four brothers took vows for the first time, and two brothers made perpetual vows. Four other brothers, one of them originally from Canada, renewed their temporary vows.
Canada has five professed Brothers. Two of them are stationed in Canada, two in France and one is ready to take up his first assignment in Australia.
The Brothers of the Society of St. Pius X start with a year of postulate and a year of novitiate, after which they take temporary vows each year for three years, then three years at a time for another six years. After nine years of temporary vows, the brothers take perpetual or final vows.
