Bishop Fellay meets with Cardinal Muller
What happened during the September meeting of Bishop Fellay with Cardinal Muller in Rome?
As previously reported, Bishop Bernard Fellay, the SSPX's Superior General, was invited to an informal meeting at the Vatican with Cardinal Gerhard Muller, Prefect of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, which would take place in the latter half of September.
The meeting took place this morning (Tuesday, September 23) and the SSPX's General House has published a communique that summarizes its details, of which here is an extract:
During this cordial meeting, doctrinal and canonical difficulties were discussed, and the current situation of the Church was mentioned. It was decided to continue the discussions in order to clarify the points of contention that remain."
